Job SummaryDepartment-Specific Responsibilities
- Develops and delivers team education programs to support improved sports performance and recovery related to knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating behaviors specific to student-athletes.
- Contributing member of the student-athlete Interdisciplinary team including sports psychology, sports science, strength and conditioning and sports medicine (athletic trainers and team physicians) to help optimize student-athlete wellness and performance.
- Perform additional tasks and duties as needed to support overall direction of the Performance Nutrition department and as directed by the Director of Performance Nutrition.
General Responsibilities
- Plans, manages, and evaluates performance nutritional services for assigned Indiana University sports and clients student-athletes.
- Develops and delivers education programs to raise knowledge of nutrition and healthy eating behaviors.
- Provides nutrition oversight and athletics' related support for the university's healthy and sustainable food directives, goals, and programs.
- Serves on wellness committees and professional organizations to support the mission of health and wellness education.
EDUCATION
Required
- Bachelor's degree in public health, nutrition, community nutrition, or dietetics
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required
- 3 years providing nutrition counseling
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES
Required
- Registered Dietitian through the Commission of Dietetic Registration (CDR) upon date of hire
Preferred
- Board-certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)
- Servsafe Food handler certification

This role requires sedentary work as well as extended durations of moving about the workplace. It requires the ability to move objects and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds, and the ability to discern between various objects and devices and to position patients. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Work non-traditional hours, weekends, and occasional holidays as needed.
