Responsibilities

Assess nutritional status and dietary habits of student athletes. Provide meal plans or other nutritional guidance for student athletes based on nutritional deficits or specific performance goals. Purchase, store, and distribute nutrition products to student athletes.

Provide individual and team education. Measure, interpret, and effectively communicate body composition results to athletes, support staff, and coaches while adhering to the confidentiality policies set forth by the department. Create and deliver nutrition education materials through various mediums.

Plan and execute special events such as grocery shopping trips and cooking classes. Assist in the training and mentoring of nutrition student volunteers and interns. Other duties as assigned.

Sport team assignments will depend on experience and interest. Football and baseball are not available. Basketballs (M/W) will not be available until next season (2026-2027). This position will also be expected to work with eating disorders/disordered eating cases. 

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Nutrition, Exercise Science, or another related field and one year of sports nutrition experience; or a Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, or another related field and three years of relevant experience. (Note: higher education may substitute at an equivalent rate.)
  • Valid Licensed/Registered Dietitian by the state of Florida.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend hours.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with performance nutrition, specifically with Olympic athletes.
