Associate Performance Dietitian
The University of Houston Performance Nutrition Department is seeking to hire an Associate Performance Dietitian. The position will be expected to start prior to/beginning of August 2025.
Job Description
The Associate Performance Dietitian is
responsible for:
· - Programming as well as providing nutrition support for teams assigned.
· - Providing education and resources to University of Houston student athletes, including team educations specific to each designated sport.
· - Individual athlete counseling.
· - Coordinating and developing nutrition education initiatives and materials using a variety of platforms.
· - Conducting and assessing body composition analysis with DEXA and InBody technologies.
· - Managing team pre-,mid-, and post-game fueling while home and away.
· - Ability to manage purchasing and inventory for fueling stations.
· - Work with on campus catering to provide team meals and snacks.
· - Understanding of NCAA, Big 12, and State of Texas rules and regulations.
· - Understanding of medical nutrition therapy, and ability to provide interventions appropriate to student athletes.
· - Perform any other duties as
assigned by the Director of Performance Nutrition.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in nutrition, dietetics, or related field, Master’s Degree preferred.
- Registered Dietitian or Registered Dietitian eligible, applicable for licensure in Texas.
- Experience in working with athlete ED/DE cases preferred.
- Member of ASPDA.
- 1-2 years of experience as an intern or full-time employment within sports nutrition.
- Ability to work a non-standard work week which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; Strong interpersonal skills; Excellent time and priority management skills; Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments; Ability to work as an integral part of the sports nutrition and interdisciplinary teams.
Estimated Salary Range:
$50,000 - $55,000 annual
