Olympic Sports Nutrition Fellow

The Mizzou Olympic Sports Nutrition department is excited to offer a Sports Nutrition Fellowship designed to strengthen the nutrition services available to the Mizzou student-athletes. This 11-month paid position offers hands-on experience and mentorship in collegiate sports nutrition. There will be team-specific oversight responsibilities that will be discussed and finalized upon hiring.
Preferred Start Date: July 1, 2025
Length of Fellowship: July 1, 2025 - May 29, 2026
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and running different department-wide nutrition education initiatives.
- Oversee the daily operations of the primary fueling station while supervising undergraduate student workers.
- Serve as the primary nutrition resource for assigned teams and their student athletes, coaches and support staff.
- Conduct in-person intake assessments and post-season evaluations to better individualize athlete nutrition plans.
- Collaborate with and assist the full-time sports nutrition staff members to support comprehensive athlete care.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition
- RD or RD eligible
- If RD eligible, must pass the RD exam within 1 month of hire
- Missouri state licensure upon hire
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends
Preferred qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nutrition, Sports Nutrition or something similar
- Experience in a collegiate or high-performance athletic setting
- Knowledge of NCAA and SEC rules and regulations
