The University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics Department is seeking a qualified Part Time Performance Dietitian for the Sports Nutrition department. This position will report directly to the Director of Athletic Performance for Sports Nutrition.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Part Time Performance Dietitian for Sports Nutrition will provide individual/group/team nutrition counseling and education to enhance the performance of student-athletes, coaches, and administration.
- They will also assist in the following operations:
§ Heavy emphasis on management/oversight of student workers
§ Directing the Education Curriculum for student-athletes
§ Sports Nutrition Catered Snack Management
§ Nutrition Fueling Station Management
§ Ordering and Taking Inventory of Sports Nutrition Product
§ Developing / continuing relationships with vendors / sponsors
- Other duties as assigned.
- This position will work directly with the Ragin Cajun Track/Cross country, M&W Tennis, and Men’s Golf programs
Employment Type:
- This is a part time position; hours are capped at 25 hours per week with pay set at $20/hour.
- This position is not eligible for benefits
- Added perks will include paid licensing and membership fees, meals provided at training table while on shift, and Adidas gear
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication, organizational, public relations, interpersonal, customer service, and supervisory skills when working with student-athletes, faculty, staff, coaches, and administration.
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others; commitment to working with multi-cultural populations.
- Have strong work ethic and be a person of high integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference, and Institutional rules as they apply to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Athletics program.
- Ability to work unconventional hours as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in (clinical nutrition, food and nutrition, or related field) from a regionally accredited institution.
- Masters Degree
- Completion of a dietetic program and supervised practice program approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
- Registered Dietitian with active registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics or RD eligible (expected RD credentialing upon hire)
- Certification/Licensure upon hire.
